How to Make Money Online For $1 - A Tribute to $1 Trials

"Everybody is out to get your $1"

That is the hard gospel truth - the real fact of the matter. So when someone says they'll teach you how to make money for free, what they really mean to say is that they want to sell you something later on. Now I'm not saying you can't learn from these freebies. But most of the time they'll only give you a teaser, or show you some incomplete teaching to lure you into getting the whole package. Rarely do you find a free lesson that is complete and doable in itself. It's not impossible but it's rare.

"You might as well give your dollar to someone who asks for it nicely: enter $1 trial."

Membership sites are the place to go if you want to learn. Think about this- a school is a membership business. Whether it's Harvard or the local Kindergarten, that's exactly what it is- a membership business. This has always been the model for learning- you pay monthly, quarterly, or yearly. You attend your classes which are given to you in a staggered manner, 101 then 102, then 201, until you graduate to something higher. You are given access to a mentor or a teacher, and your learning is augmented by all the interaction you get with your classmates. This is how we learn. Not from a magic bullet ebook. From school.

The problem is that most "schools" on Internet Marketing are expensive. Or at least they appear to be expensive because of the risk that we bear. We don't know if these are legit or if these are scammers out to get your money simply because we're in a recession and you're desperate to learn. Most membership sites make so many promises about what's inside, if only there were some way to take a peek, you'd probably be sold on it. This is what the $1 Trial is for.

"Better than Free"

So there, I've shown you the primary reason why $1 Trials are the way to go. They minimize your risk. They offer you a means to "try before you buy". They also minimize the inconvenience of refunds and returns. They build trust, and give you true freedom of choice before you continue. But here's another reason that could be equally important. It's better than Free.

Assuming you find a free course that isn't just fluff and actually has comprehensive content to get you started, let me give you something to think about. Brian McElroy, a successful Copywriter and Internet Marketer tells a story about how he was sitting in a bar and gave his lady friend free advice on how to get started making thousands of dollars online. He didn't hold back and gave her everything she needs to learn- the same thing he would have given one of his clients who would pay him $500 an hour. He calls her up some time after to check on how much action she took and guess what he finds? She did absolutely nothing.

There's a psychological glitch in our minds where we attach the value of advice or information to the price we paid for it. And so free information or free advice registers as a blank to our subconscious. Simply put, because she didn't pay for it, she didn't value it, didn't act on it, and it didn't work. Someone who pays $500 for it on the other hand will act on it, because he paid good money for it. But in the end, it was always the same valuable information.

What am I getting at here? I've just explained to you why it's important to pay for your education. But more than that I've shown you why the psychology behind $1 Trials just makes sense. When you pay a dollar to try something, you make a subconscious commitment. Just the fact that you brought out your wallet (or typed in your Paypal password) makes a world of difference from not paying anything. Because of that you give your $1 Trial a fair "try". You don't ignore it then tell everybody that it didn't work. That's unfair to your, and unfair to the program. No matter how salesy a membership site owner is- he does not want you to fail. Your success means positive word-of-mouth for him. Free powerful sales.

So what is Free for? Free works in the web 2.0 freemium model, where you try a service for free and then pay for premium features. Free works in getting you on people's mailing list, but only if it does what it promises to do. And last but not least- this is my favorite- free works best when it is an unadvertised bonus of true value just to make you fall in love with the program you just bought. Many $1 Trial programs have these bonuses that are just wonderful surprises behind a $1 curtain.

"Conclusion: Invest $1 for your Money-Making Education"

So to end, I think I've made my points very clear and very convincing - $1 Trials are simply the only way to go. If you want to find a way to filter all these gurus promising you so many things, this is an effective way. Ask: "Do they offer a $1 Trial?" Can I cancel at anytime (via Paypal preferably)? Give it a try, risk that dollar, and begin your adventure in learning how to truly make money online.

Don't go on a wild-goose-chase looking for someone to learn how to make money online from! The Guru Review gives you the best place to start. And yes these guys give $1 Trials!
